How to Uninstall a Windows Update
Introduction
Sometimes Windows updates can cause conflicts with software applications. This guide explains how to safely uninstall a Windows update and temporarily pause updates to prevent reinstallation. At the end, we list updates known to conflict with PassportScan 19.99.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings
Press Win + I or click Start and select Settings.
Navigate to Windows Update in the left-hand menu.
Step 2: View Update History
In Windows Update, click Update history.
Scroll down and click Uninstall updates.
Step 3: Uninstall the Problematic Update
In the search box, type the update KB number (for example, KB5064401).
Select the update from the list.
Click Uninstall.
Confirm any prompts and wait for the process to complete.
Restart your computer to apply changes.
⚠️ Note: Make sure to uninstall all conflicting updates listed if they are present.
Step 4: Pause Windows Updates Temporarily
Go back to Settings > Windows Update.
Click Pause updates.
Select a pause period (e.g., 15 days) to prevent Windows from reinstalling the updates while waiting for a compatible PassportScan release.
