How to Configure the Detection and Transmission of Title and Language to Opera

Overview

The detection of a client’s Title and Language during registration in PassportScan is a configurable feature. However, since these data points cannot be directly extracted from the client’s identity document, they are determined and calculated by PassportScan using specific algorithms. This means there is always a margin of error.

Language: Determined using a predefined table that matches the client’s nationality with the most likely language.

Title: Assigned based on the client’s detected language and gender.

To ensure that these data points are assigned correctly and transmitted to Opera, follow the configuration steps below.

Step 1: Configuring Title and Language Detection in PassportScan

1. Access Your Branch Settings:

Log in to Workspace.PassportScan.net, and navigate to your branch’s Settings.

2. Enable Allowed Languages:

Under General Settings, find the Allowed Languages option.

Select the languages you want to enable for detection. PassportScan supports the following languages:

Spanish

English

Italian

French

German

Catalan

By enabling these languages, PassportScan will assign the Title and Language fields during registration based on the client’s document nationality and detected gender.

Step 2: Sending Title and Language Data to Opera

To send the detected Title and Language data to Opera, additional configuration is required in the OHIP integration settings:

1. Access Integration Settings:

In the PassportScan workspace, go to:

Settings > Your Branch > Integration

2. Activate “Send Language”:

Locate the Opera Cloud (OHIP) integration configuration. Enable the Send Language option.

Once activated, the system will automatically transmit the Title and Language fields to Opera along with the client’s other registration data.

Notes

Since the Title and Language are determined algorithmically and not read directly from the document, occasional discrepancies may occur. This can happen if the client’s nationality doesn’t match their preferred language or if the system misinterprets gender for the Title assignment.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the Title and Language fields are correctly configured and transmitted to Opera via PassportScan.
