Two-Factor Authentication
Tutorial: How to Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password when logging in. You can use an authentication app such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or any other compatible app to generate these codes. Follow these steps to enable it:
Step 1: Access Profile Settings
Log in to your account.
Click on your username in the top-right corner of the screen.
In the dropdown menu, select “Profile Settings.”
Step 2: Enable MFA
4. Scroll down to the “Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)” section.
5. Click the “Enable MFA” button.
Step 3: Confirmation and Setup
6. Download the authentication app (such as Google Authenticator, Apple Authenticator , Authy, or another compatible app) from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the MFA setup, which may include scanning a QR code.
Step 4: Verification
8. Once enabled, every time you log in, you will be prompted to enter a verification code generated by your chosen authentication app.
Important Notes About MFA on PassportScan
MFA is currently only available for admin users.
Tablet application access will be restricted once MFA is enabled. Due to technical limitations, MFA is currently limited to the web workspace, meaning you will not be able to log in via the tablet app if MFA is turned on.
Future compatibility with the tablet app is planned, but there is no confirmed release date yet.
⚠ Warning: If you enable MFA and lose access to your authentication app, you may be locked out of your account. Be sure to keep your recovery codes safe.
By following these steps, your account will now be more secure with multi-factor authentication.
